As Turkey's largest steel profile producer, Kocaer Steel continues to invest in clean energy without slowing down in line with its vision of becoming "Carbon Neutral" by 2053. The company meets one-third of its energy consumption from solar energy with a 9.2 Megawatt (MW) installed capacity Rooftop Solar Power Plant at its factories in İzmir-Aliağa.

Recognizing renewable energy sources as a strategic investment area, Kocaer Energy, has initiated its operations in geothermal energy and continues its investments at a rapid pace. Investing in geothermal energy, which is the most sustainable energy source with the highest capacity factor compared to renewable and clean energy sources such as wind, solar, biomass, and green hydrogen, the company has decided to begin with an initial phase of 24 Megawatts (MW) capacity, scheduled to be commissioned by the end of 2026. Subsequent phases will be completed incrementally in 24 MW stages. At the end of the investment to be realized in 5 phases, a total power of 120 MW will be reached.Drilling activities have already commenced on the company's own land, located within the borders of Kurtuluş Neighborhood in Kuyucak District, Aydın Province.

Kocaer Energy aims to make a geothermal energy investment equivalent to the installation of a 120 MW solar power plant. This investment is being made in accordance with the highest environmental and quality standards recognized worldwide. The Kocaer Geothermal Energy Power Plant will generate electricity by extracting fluid from approximately 3000 meters below the earth's surface and aims to support activities such as geothermal greenhouse farming and residential heating in the surrounding area. Additionally, with its reinjection technology, which will send 100% of the extracted fluid back underground, the Kocaer Geothermal Energy Power Plant aims to utilize the country's local and renewable energy source to serve the common welfare of society without harming the environment, nature, or agricultural production.

Hakan Kocaer was born in Denizli in 1972. He started his career in the iron and steel industry in 1990 and took part in all departments and processes of the Company. He has continued to work in the factories established in Izmir since 1996 and has taken an active role in the growth of the Company with the strategic decisions he has taken in line with his vision.

Starting his career in the finance sector as a Foreign Trade Officer at Pamukbank between February 1982 and June 1983, Bülent Yurdalan worked in the Letter of Credit Department at Citibank N.A. Istanbul from July 1983 to February 1988.

With extensive experience in the finance sector, Mr. Yurdalan worked at QNB Finansbank for 17 years, serving as the Head of Internal Systems from January 2012 to December 2019, and as the Chief Audit Executive (Head of the Board of Internal Auditors) from January 2003 to December 2011.
He served as Assistant General Manager at Fibabank from July 2002 to December 2002 and as General Manager at Finansbank Malta from January 2001 to June 2002.

Since January 2020, he has been serving as a Board Member at QNB Finans Faktoring A.Ş. As of June 2024, he has also been serving as a Board Member at Kocaer Energy.
