In our plant, geothermal fluid will be re-injected into the reservoir at a rate of 100%, ensuring maximum resource sustainability and capacity factor optimization.
An analysis of the impacts on humans, the environment, and nature indicates that our project, which will operate below threshold values, will prevent carbon emissions at a level equivalent to 103,872 tons/year, which corresponds to an energy consumption of 192,000 kWh when it comes to fruition.
The binary cycle technology used by Kocaer Energy for geothermal energy production allows for efficient electricity generation from low- and medium-temperature geothermal resources. Although the hot water or steam extracted from geothermal resources may not be at a sufficient temperature to directly generate electricity, it can provide enough heat to vaporize another fluid.
In this process, the geothermal fluid heats an organic fluid (such as isopentane or freon) with a low boiling point through a heat exchanger. As a result of this contact, the organic fluid vaporizes. The resulting steam is directed at high speed to a turbine, generating electricity by spinning the turbine. The turbine is connected to a generator that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. The steam exiting the turbine is condensed back into liquid form with the help of a condenser and is sent back to the heat exchanger, continuing the operation in a closed loop.
In line with Kocaer Energy's environmental sensitivity policies, the geothermal fluid is re-injected underground at a rate of 100%. This ensures the sustainable use of the geothermal resource, minimizing environmental impacts during energy production.
This closed-loop system is part of Kocaer Energy's strategies to enhance efficiency in renewable energy production and reduce environmental impact.
